Frequently Asked Questions
What is Banking from Home? Banking from Home is our FREE Internet banking service. It offers you access to your account(s) from your personal computer 24 hours per day, seven days a week. With Banking from Home you can perform a variety of account activities from home, the office or anywhere that you have access to the Internet.
How do I enroll? Simply print and complete the Banking from Home Application form. You can fax it to Baker at 908-859-1817, or mail to Baker FCU. You may also request an Application form in person at our office. Once this is done, usually within 48 hours, a temporary PASSWORD will be e-mailed to you. The first time you log into the service you will be prompted to change your PASSWORD to a private one that only you should know. You may then use Banking from Home as often as you like. Your User ID is your account number.
When choosing your PASSWORD, do not use your birth year, your social security number, birth date, or any other personal information that may appear in public or on printed documents. In other words, avoid the obvious that others may guess.
Can I change my PASSWORD? You have the ability to change your PASSWORD at any time, which assures you of complete confidentiality. PASSWORDS can be alphabetic or numeric up to 10 characters long, with a minimum of 4 characters. If you forget your PASSWORD, call us to re-activate this service. You will need to verify your identity at this time. (Alphabetic PASSWORDS are case sensitive, so be sure you consistently use the case you used when setting your PASSWORD, either upper or lower case. PASSWORDS will expire in 60 days, and need to be re-set at this time.)
Can I print my account history? Yes. You may print up to 6 months of account history.
When is Banking from Home available? Banking from Home is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. This service may be interrupted periodically for data processing requirements.
How long can I use Banking from Home per session? You have unlimited transaction time, but if your connection is inactive for 10 minutes, your session will automatically log off.
Is my account information secure? Yes. Ensuring the privacy and security of your account and personal information is a top priority. We store no member information on our web server that is accessed by the public. Layers of security include automatic sign-off, encryption, firewalls and PASSWORD lockout. Automatic Sign Off: Sometimes you may be using a remote computer when you're banking online, so remembering to sign off is very important. However, if you do forget to sign off, Banking from Home will automatically sign off for you after 10 minutes of inactivity. This will prevent anyone from accessing your account. Encryption: Banking from Home utilizes different types of technology to ensure the confidentiality of its transactions through the Internet, such as VeriSign 128 bit encryption. Firewalls: The credit union is protected by a firewall, which is a barrier between the outside Internet and the internal credit union network. The firewall verifies each network packet and determines whether to permit access. All incoming traffic is actually addressed to the firewall, which only allows pertinent information to flow into the credit union. PASSWORD Lockout: In order to bank on line, you need to know your User ID and your unique PASSWORD. If someone else is trying to enter a PASSWORD to view your banking information, he/she won't get very far. Banking from Home allows only 3 chances to enter a PASSWORD. After 3 failed attempts, it is determined to be fraudulent activity and the account is locked out. No further log in attempts will be allowed, even if the PASSWORD is entered after the third try. Contact a Baker Credit Union representative at 1-800-992-2365 or 908-859-2340 to regain access.
Will I receive a receipt for transactions performed online? No. However, you can print your own record of transaction if you have a printer attached to your PC or record the Trace Number of the transaction.
Can anyone else access my account information? No. Your online account information is available only through access methods that have been rigorously tested for their secure access. The information is not public. Only you can access it using your User ID and Password. Unless you share your PASSWORD, no one else can access your account information online.

Can I transfer from/to other financial institutions? No. You may transfer between the sub-shares of a single account, or into the sub-shares of any other Baker Federal Credit Union account if you have previously applied for Cross-Account Transfers. (See your representative for details).
When and how will Banking from Home advance payments, or transfers take place? Financial transactions (same account transfers, cross account transfers, advances, and payments) are processed in a similar fashion to teller transactions. When a transaction has been completed, you will receive a confirmation message on your browser screen. Also, the transaction will appear on your mailed monthly statement as usual and also in your online account history. There may be circumstances beyond our control that cause you to not receive a confirmation page. For example, congestion on the Internet or a failure in your browser software. You can confirm the status of the transaction by calling Baker Federal Credit Union, but we recommend first checking your online account transaction history page. You should not resubmit a transaction without first seeing if the original was carried out.
